PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Paige Thommes registered 17 kills, and Annalee Halbert picked up 42 assists as visiting West Chester earned a 3-1 victory over host Philadelphia University in a non-league volleyball match Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (8-0) remains unbeaten on the young season following the non-conference win. Thommes continues to hold the hot hand as the freshman turned in yet another strong performance for the Golden Rams. West Chester won the match by scores of 27-25, 19-25, 25-17 and 25-23.
Marina Sharkey posted 11 kills while Allison Grammer had nine kills to lead the offensive charge. Callie Krajcir posted 22 digs while Tyler Sheafer added 14.
West Chester will be back in action again next weekend in the PSAC West Crossover in Erie, Pa. The Rams will face Edinboro and Gannon on Friday with matches against Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst on Saturday.
