EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – West Chester University stretched its unbeaten streak to four, with a 2-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference victory at East Stroudsburg University Tuesday evening.
The Golden Rams improved to 3-2-2, 3-1-1 in the PSAC passing the break-even point for the first time this year. East Stroudsburg (0-6-1, 0-3-0 PSAC) sent nine shots at the West Chester goal.
Conor Malarney scored his sixth of the year from
Roberto Silva in the 36
th minute, to give West Chester a 1-0 lead at the half.
Miguel Ross added to the lead just 42 seconds into the second half with his second of the year.
West Chester is currently tied for first place in the PSAC with its three conference victories, all coming during the 3-0-1 unbeaten stretch.
Ryan Shultz recorded his second straight shutout and third on the season while making one save in net for the Golden Rams. ESU keeper Callum Hampson was credited with six saves in goal for the Warriors.
West Chester has a week off before returning to action for a non-conference tilt at Wilmington University (Del.) on Wednesday October 2
