Big Run In Second Half Enables West Chester To Pull Away From Lock Haven, 91-65

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Kendall Benovy scored a game-high 18 points and Chikisha Steele-Hook posted her second straight double-double with 11 points and 12 points to lead West Chester to a 91-65 victory over visiting Lock Haven in a PSAC East women's basketball contest inside Hollinger Field House.
 
West Chester (10-5, 4-0 PSAC East) took over sole possession of first place with its win over Lock Haven (2-12, 0-4) coupled with East Stroudsburg's upset at home over Shippensburg. The Golden Rams will travel to Shippensburg on Wednesday in one of the biggest games of the season to date.
 
West Chester used a 30-6 run in the second half to open up a close game and spoil an upset bid by Lock Haven. The Golden Rams, who shot just 33.3 perecent from the field in the first half, made 22 of 32 shots in the final 20 minutes (68.8 percent) and outscored the Lady Eagles by a convincing 55-38 margin.
 
Benovy led West Chester in scoring for the second straight game while Steele-Hook's double-double was her second straight and third of the season. The Rams put five different players in double figures in the scoring column. Anna Kuntz registered 15 points while Dallas Ely and Brittany Sicinski each put up 16 points. Sicinski added five rebounds and seven assists. Both Ely and Sicinski scored 11 of their 16 after halftime while 12 of Kuntz's 15 followed the break.
 
West Chester travels to Shippensburg on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. tipoff at Heigis Field House.
