West Chester Pulls Out Win in Double-Overtime Thriller

Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester's Brett Glasco (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) scored the game-winner in the 100th minute to help his team hang on for a 3-2 victory over the California (Pa.) Vulcans at Rockwell Field on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Rams (9-6, 7-3 PSAC) struck first as Miguel Ross (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) found teammate Giovanni Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame Green Pond) in front to give the Golden Rams a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Cal's (5-10-1, 4-6-0 PSAC) Kevin Helbig answered back with a header to tie it up just minutes into the second half.

Then, with under a minute to go in regulation and the teams knotted up at one, Alex Caplan (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) scored with 39 seconds remaining to give the Golden Rams a 2-1 lead. California bounced right back shortly thereafter as Jeffery Kyei tied the game with two seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.

Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa. / Bangor) played the entire game, making two saves, including a breakaway attempt by Cal's Kyei earlier in the second half to improve his personal record to 8-4 on the season.

Cal's Shane Donovan made five saves, while allowing three goals in the losing effort.

West Chester will return to Rockwell Field Saturday for Senior Day to honor its four graduating seniors and close out the regular season against Slippery Rock at 2:30 p.m.
