Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Sr., QB Sean McCartney (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) threw for 403 yards and five touchdowns as ninth-ranked West Chester (5-0, 4-0 PSAC) downed visiting Lock Haven (0-5, 0-4) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference football game inside John A. Farrell Stadium Saturday afternoon.

McCartney, who has thrown at least three TD passes in each of West Chester's first five games this season, threw three TD passes in the first half as the Golden Rams jumped out on the Bald Eagles early. West Chester racked up 614 yards of total offense, marking the second straight week in which the Rams eclipsed 600 yards in a game. They posted 608 total yards of offense last week against Millersville as well.

Jr., RB Brandon Monk (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) rushed for 133 yards on 14 carries to lead all rushers. He finished with 230 all-purpose yards in the win, adding 59 yards on kickoff returns and another 38 yards receiving.

McCartney spread around his 23 completions on 40 attempts to eight different receivers. Tim Brown (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby), Shannon Mayer (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) and Jim Hurley (Wayne, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) all caught a game-high five passes. Brown and Mayer each had a pair of touchdown catches as well.

Defensively, Sr., CB Al-Hajj Shabazz (Philadelphia, Pa./Bartram) made four tackles and had three pass breakups. Sr., LB Mike Labor (Haverford, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) led the team with eight stops.
McCartney led West Chester on scoring drives with the Golden Rams' first four possessions of the afternoon. West Chester jumped out to a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter, after McCartney hit Mayer in the back corner of the end zone with a 13-yard TD strike, Rich Bruno (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) kicked a 43-yard field goal and Tim Brown snared a 10-yard TD pass. Lock Haven answered that last score with a scoring drive of its own that made it a 17-6 ballgame after the extra point was wide.
However, Erick Brundidge (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) capped a 9-play, 79-yard drive with a 16-yd TD catch from McCartney, who was scrambling out of the pocket to his right trying to buy some time. That score came with 3:39 left in the first half and put West Chester on top, 24-6, heading into the break.
After Brown's second TD catch of the game in the third quarter put West Chester on top, 31-6, Lock Haven added a 44-yard field goal to pull to within, 31-9. The Golden Rams scored on their first two possessions of the fourth quarter to open up a 41-9 advantage. Mayer snared a 1-yard pass from McCartney, and Bruno kicked a career-long 45-yard field goal.
Lock Haven closed out the scoring with a 43-yard scamper from Malyk Harris with two minutes left in the contest.
West Chester travels to Kutztown on Thursday night for a 7:05 p.m. kickoff against the Golden Bears.
