Phila U Comes From Behind Late To Top WCU Men, 3-2

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Philadelphia University scored a pair of goals in the final 12 minutes of play to come from behind and defeat visiting West Chester University, 3-2, in a non-league men's soccer match Monday afternoon at Ravenhill Field.
 
West Chester (5-5-0) erased a one-goal deficit with back-to-back tallies in the second half, but Philadelphia (7-3-1) posted a pair of goals in the 78th minute and the 82nd minute to escape with the victory.
 
Wyatt Dungan's (Ephrata, Pa./Cocalico) header in the 55th minute was his first career goal and knotted the score at 1-1. Alex Lean (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) then netted his second of the season in the 72nd minute off an assist from Miguel Ross (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) to give West Chester a short-lived lead.
 
Philadelphia University's Victor Chagonda scored the Rams' first goal of the game and assisted on the two second-half markers, including the game-winner to pace the hosts.
 
West Chester played both of its goalkeepers with starter Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) playing the first half, yielding one goal and making three saves. Phil Horan (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Twp.) played the second half and suffered the loss. He allowed a pair of goals and made a pair of saves.
 
PhilaU outshot West Chester by a 19-8 margin. However, West Chester doubled up the Rams on corner kicks, 8-4.
 
West Chester travels to Shippensburg on Oct. 14 for a PSAC showdown in Central PA.
