West Chester Secures Fourth Seed, in spite of Saturday’s Loss

Sets Up Rematch Tuesday At Rockwell Against Slippery Rock

West Chester, Pa. - On a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon, the West Chester Golden Rams lost 3-0 against PSAC rival Slippery Rock University in the regular-season finale for both schools.
 
Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa. / Bangor) had three saves and allowed three goals to finish with a personal record of 8-5 on the regular season.
 
West Chester also celebrated its four seniors, David Green (Elkton, Md. / Elkton) , Christian Benner (Tedford, Pa. / Souderton) , Alex Katz (Pennington, N.J. / Hopewell), and Tommy Ryan (Newtown Square, Pa. / Marple Newtown) in their last regular-season home game.
 
The Golden Rams (9-7-0, 7-4-0 PSAC) received the fourth seed as they head into the PSAC Tournament and will get a rematch with fifth-seeded Slippery Rock (11-6-0, 6-4-0 PSAC) in a first-round match.
 
MercyHurst and Bloomsburg ended up as the top two seeds and will both receive a first-round bye in the conference tournament. No. 3 seed Seton Hill will take on sixth-seeded California (Pa.) to round out the conference playoffs.
 
Slippery Rock's Steven Donnelly recorded a hat-trick scoring all three goals in the game.
 
The Rematch will take place this Tuesday on the campus of West Chester University at Rockwell field. Time to be announced.
