Cory Blake (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) scored a team-high 16 points, but it was not enough as the Golden Rams fell to host Mercyhurst, 72-59, in a PSAC West crossover Tuesday evening.

West Chester (3-6, 2-3 PSAC) battled back from behind entire game. However, Mercyhurst (7-3, 4-1) respond each time to keep the visiting Golden Rams at bay.

The Lakers opened up a double-digit lead with a 12-0 run to grab that eventually stretched to 13 heading into the break. Mercyhurst increased its lead to 17 early in the second half, which turned out to be its largest lead of game behind a four-man bench that scored 29 points compared to West Chester's 14.

Blake was the only player for the Golden Rams to finish in double-digits. He added five rebounds, four steals, and one block in the loss.

Avery Brown (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) finished second in scoring with nine points while
Mike Wilson (Philadelphia, Pa./Martin Luther King) and
Raheem Hall (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) scored eight points apiece. West Chester finished with a field goal percentage of 38.3 overall from the floor and 20.0 percent from 3-point range.

The Lakers finished with three players in double-digits led by Damon Jones, who came off the bench to score 15 points.

Lakers' C, James Ewing, led the starters with 13 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Jr., Andy Hoyer rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points in the winning effort.
