West Chester Men Fall At Lock Haven, 81-75

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – West Chester finished with four players in double figures, including Matt Wiseley's double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, but it was not enough as the Golden Rams fell to Lock Haven, 81-75, inside Thomas Fieldhouse Wednesday evening.
 
The Golden Rams (3-4, 2-1 PSAC) held a lead at 19-17 early on in the first half, but would not grab another lead after that point as the closest they would get was tied at 66-all with seven minutes to go in the game. Lock Haven (1-4, 1-1 PSAC) stood strong, leading 36-29 at the half and kept  shooting the lights out, finishing at 51.1 percent from the field for the game.
 
Wiseley (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) led the Golden Rams capturing a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Eric Frans (Lehigh, Pa./Saucon Valley) followed with 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals in the losing effort.
 
Parrish Grant (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) contributed with 13 points, three assists and three steals, while Cory Blake (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) was held to 11 points.
 
The Bold Eagles were led by Wali Hepburn with 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals.  Ali Blount added 12 points while Theo West contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Nate Waters also scored 11 points in the victory.
 
West Chester led in points off turnovers, in the paint, second-chance points, fast break points, and the turnover battle. But WCU shot just 13 percent from beyond the arc and 58 percent from the free throw line as compared to Lock Haven shooting a little over 40 percent from 3-point range and 75 percent from the free throw line.
 
The Golden Rams will try to rebound as they will take on the Red Raiders of Shippensburg on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the second game of their four-game road trip.
