PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – For the second time in as many outings, West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad broke the school's overall team record by scoring better than 190 as the Golden Rams placed third behind a pair of Division I programs Sunday afternoon.

West Chester (7-6) scored a 190.650, besting its previous mark of 190.575 set one week ago, on the strength of a pair of team records in two of the four events. The Golden Rams also established new season highs on both the vault (47.500) and the uneven bars (47.875) while falling just .05 shy of hitting its season best on the floor. The Rams' 47.875 was also a new school record.

Freshman
Majesta Valentine (Wilmington, Del.) was over 38.000 in the all-around for the second straight week as well. She scored a 38.425, as opposed to her personal-best 38.525 last Saturday. Her 9.7 on the bars was also a new personal high for the Wilmington, Del., native.

Sophomore
Meghan Brannon (Seminole, Fla.) set a new personal best on the bars as well, scoring a 9.800 to lead the Golden Rams in that event. Senior
Emily Seigel (Reiserstown, Md.) scored a 9.75 on the bars to go along with Valentine's 9.7 and Brannon's 9.8.

Valentine scored a 9.775 on the floor while
Stephanie Plaugher (Lansdale, Pa.) posted a 9.725. Seigel and
Kristen Torres (Paradise, Pa.) each scored a 9.625 on the floor as well.

Rutgers won the tri-meet with a 193.675 while host University of Pennsylvania placed second with a 190.850.

West Chester will be back in action on Friday at the Philadelphia Convention Center where the Golden Rams will meet up with ECAC rival Southern Connecticut State University at 7 p.m. in their annual Unite for HER meet.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children ages 5-12. Children 4-and-under will be admitted free of charge. All of the proceeds from the admission prices go to support Unite for HER.

Unite for HER (UFH) will host its Sixth Annual Pink Invitational-Gymnasts Unite event all weekend long at the Philadelphia Convention Center to raise funds and awareness for women affected by breast cancer.

UFH is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of women and girls by supporting and providing wellness and breast cancer programs that educate, empower and restore.

The Pink Invitational provides a unique opportunity to educate young women and girls about the benefits of organic products, nutrition, regular physical activity, breast health and healthy lifestyle choices, and is the organization's largest fundraising event.
