PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Majesta Valentine had a consistent all-around event for West Chester Gymnastics Sunday afternoon at a quad-meet inside the Pizzitola Sports Center on the campus of Brown University.
The Golden Rams (8-7) scored 188.525 points to finish third behind ECAC rival Bridgeport, who won the meet with a score of 194.650 and host Brown, who scored 194.125 points and ahead of the 170. 8 points amassed by Rhode Island College.
Valentine registered an all-around score of 38.450, with her highest score being a 9.7 to finish in seventh place in the Vault to lead the Golden Rams.
Melissa Prisco scored a 9.525, and
Selena Swanger added a 9.475.
Emily Seigel scored a career best 9.775 on the Uneven Bars to place fourth, with Valentine scoring a 9.575, and
Stephanie Plaugher registering a 9.45.
Valentine was the top Golden Ram on the Balance Beam with a 9.575 good for tie for seventh,
Lindsay Knapp scored a 9.5 and
Cecelia Lorenzen had a 9.45 on the beam
Valentine also showed the way on the Floor Exercise with a 9.6, she was followed by
Paige Griffin and
Emily Harrison, who each scored 9.425.
West Chester travels to Ithaca, N.Y. on Saturday to face Cornell University at 1 p.m., in its final meet before hosting the ECAC Championships on March 22 inside Sturzebecker HSC.
