Match ResultsWEST CHESTER, Pa. –West Chester University women's tennis squad reached the five hundred mark with to a 9-0 victory over PSAC East opponent Shippensburg on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
The Golden Rams (9-9, 5-1 PSAC East) won for the fourth consecutive league match this week and will carry the number two seed into the PSAC Tournament where it will host the third seed Kutztown on Monday afternoon a 2 p.m. in the PSAC quarterfinals. The Golden Rams scored a 7-2 road victory over the Golden Bears on Wednesday. The winner of Monday's match will face the top seed out of the West, California, Pa.(10-2, 5-0 PSAC West) on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the semifinals which will be held at the South Campus Courts. Shippensburg ends its season witha 3-8 record 1-4 in PSAC east.
Maddy Shaak and
Nicole Fahringer were victorious in first doubles 8-2, in second doubles,
Abriana Nolan and
Amailia Hartman registered a point with a 8-2 victory and
Cassidy Branigan and
Stephanie Cifarelli won third doubles in a walkover.
Shaak defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-0, Fahringer scored a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the number two position, and Branigan dispatched her opponent 6-3, 6-2 at third singles. Nolan scored a 6-3, 6-1 triumph in the fourth slot and.
Haley Wissinger won in the fifth singles position with a 6-0, 6-0 and
Jami Dumler was a walkover winner as only five Raiders competed on the day.
West Chester hosts Kutztown on Monday in the PSAC Tournament quarterfinals starting at 2 p.m. at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
