West Chester Baseball Splits Doubleheader With Millersville

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Seniors Mike Raimo went 4-for-7 while Chris Pula was 3-for-7 with a pair of RBI as host West Chester University split its regular-season finale with PSAC East rival Millersville on Saturday afternoon at Serpico Stadium.

West Chester (25-17, 16-12 PSAC East) earned the third seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament with its 6-1 victory in the nightcap while Millersville (34-13, 21-7) wrapped up the Eastern Division crown and top seed out of the East with its 5-2 win in the opener.

West Chester will play the second seed in the West on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler, Pa. Final seedings have not been determined out West, yet. However, as of Saturday, that opponent would be Mercyhurst (18-8, 26-12).

Ryan Swearingen (2-2) threw a complete game for the Golden Rams, scattering 10 hits over seven frames, but allowing just one run to cross. He walked one and struck out three.

On a day that West Chester honored its nine graduating seniors, that class, which was integral in helping the Rams win the 2012 national championship, led the way once more. Raimo, Pula, Rob Spekhardt and Dylan Zigman were a combined 5-for-12 with three RBI and three runs scored in the Rams' game two win.
