WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester's
Amanda Eisman (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) picked up her second weekly accolade on Monday fresh off her first collegiate victory at last Saturday's DII Challenge hosted by Kutztown University. She was named the national runner of the week for Division II by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association.
Eisman earned her first national honor of her career, helping the Golden Rams to a second-place showing at the event. For her efforts, she was also named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's cross country athlete of the week earlier in the day.
Her citation is the first bestowed upon a Golden Rams' harrier this season. Eisman's time was the fastest run by a WCU harrier on this 6K course in the past 11 years. It also beat Eisman's fastest time on this course by 30 seconds. West Chester was second in the team standings to No. 22 Stonehill, who is also the top-ranked team in the East Region.
