No. 3 West Chester Shuts Out No. 9 Bloomsburg, 2-0

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Mary Spisak (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and senior Hannah Davies (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) each scored to lead third-ranked West Chester to a 2-0 victory over ninth-ranked Bloomsburg at Stephen Pettit Field Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester (5-0, 3-0 PSAC) remains unbeaten with the shutout win while Bloomsburg (2-4, 1-3) has now dropped three of its past four games.
 
Spisak notched her first career goal when she lifted a reverse flick into the top of the net over Bloomsburg's goalkeeper's head in the 25th minute. The hometown hero, Davies, then tipped in a shot on the far post off a penalty corner to double the visitor's lead in the second half.
 
Sarah Krause (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) (2-0) made one save to record the shutout in the cage. Bloomsburg's Lindsay Cassel recorded three saves. West Chester's Kelsey Cheek (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) recorded a defensive save.
 
West Chester will travel to top-ranked Millersville on Tuesday for a showdown with the Marauders.
