Sean McCartney (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) went 18-for-25 for 307 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first half as 10th-ranked West Chester University defeated Millersville, 62-7, at John A. Farrell Stadium Saturday night.

Eddie Elliott (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) rushed for a career high 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns as West Chester racked up 608 yards of total offense, including 404 before halftime. The Golden Rams' 608 yards of total offense marked the first time since last year's Millersville contest that WCU broke the 600-yard plateau, offensively.

West Chester raced out to a 20-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and tacked on 14 more to mount a 34-0 advantage by halftime. McCartney completed his first seven passes of the game and 9 of his first 10 altogether to get the Golden Rams' offense going early.

Brandon Monk (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) scored on runs of 13 yards and two yards, and TE
Tim Brown (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby) caught a 21-yard pass over the middle for another TD as West Chester scored on each of its first three possessions.

Mike Doty (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) caught a 15-yard pass over the middle in the second quarter, and then McCartney led West Chester on a 5-play, 55-yard drive in the two-minute drill that culminated in a 21-yad TD pass to
Shannon Mayer (Norristown, Pa./Norristown).

Millersville finally got on the board when it took the second half kickoff and drove 74-yards on six plays. Kevin Wiggins caught a 7-yard pass from Marauders' QB Matt Misley that made it a 34-7 ballgame.

However,
Jarel Elder (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for his first career touchdown, and West Chester was back in business. Elliott scored on a 66-yard run down the near sideline with 6:36 remaining in the third quarter and then added a 1-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter. Elder ran for a 49-yard TD four minutes later for the final points of the game.

West Chester used all three quarterbacks with
Andrew Derr (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin) playing most of the second half.
Pat Moriarty (Harriton, Pa./Gladwyne) made his collegiate debut on the Rams' final possession of the game.

Defensively, West Chester limited Millersville to just 258 yards of total offense.
Drew Formica (Newtown Square, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) led the Golden Rams with nine tackles, including one for a loss.
Andrew Cohen (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) had six tackles, including a pair of sacks, he broke up a pass and registered a pair of QB hurries.
Ralph Reeves (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) posted four tackles, starting in place of the injured Ronell Williams at middle linebacker.

West Chester will be back home at Farrell Stadium next Saturday afternoon for a 12 p.m. start against fellow PSAC East rival Lock Haven.
