Marnie Kusakavitch (Pittston, Pa. / Holy Redeemer) capture her first hat trick of the season to lead the Golden Rams past Slippery Rock 6-1 inside Mihalik-Thompson Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Rams out shot the Rock 16-6 on goal and 21-8 overall to put pressure on the defense. Slippery Rock could not find an answer after being shutout in the first period and one shot on goal.
Kusakavitch scored the first two goals of the game for West Chester, both to the right side of the goalkeeper with the first one coming in the later minutes of the first period.
Dayle Paustian (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan) added two goals and two assists in the game, while
Rachel Toppi (Glassboro, N.J. / Glassboro) added a goal on a deflection to give the Golden Rams a 5-0 lead in the second period and put the game out of reach.
West Chester concludes the regular season against Seton Hill on Oct. 31st at 1 p.m. on the site of Vonnie Gros Field.
