Serifat Junaid (Chesilhurst, N.J./Camden Catholic) posted her first double-double of the season with 21 points on 8-for-9 shooting, and added 10 rebounds, to lead West Chester University to a 68-55 victory over Lock Haven inside Hollinger Field House Wednesday evening.
Without forward Chikisha Steele-Hook able to suit up, West Chester (17-4, 13-4 PSAC) had to find some front court help to step in and carry the load. Junaid answered the call, leading the Golden Rams to the win over Lock Haven (7-13, 6-10).
West Chester went into halftime with just a four-point lead, after shooting a combined 50-percent from the field. Lock Haven had no answer.

Mariah Powell (Glen Mills, Pa./Mount St. Mary's) added 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting, to go with six rebounds for the game.
Porscha Speller (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) each provided instant offense off the bench as well with 10 points.
Anna Kuntz (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) added nine points, three rebounds, three steals and two blocks in the win.
Brittany Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) contributed nine points and seven rebounds, after being honored before the game for scoring her 1,000th career point at Kutztown last Saturday.
Lady Eagles' Rachel McDaniel had a team-high 12 points in the conference loss. Sami Lane and Loren Kaiser chipped in with 10 points each to round out the double-figure scoring.
West Chester now gets set for its upcoming game with Shippensburg this Saturday at 1 p.m. The game is the annual Play4Kay contest where food, gift baskets, and much more will be happening before and during the games and all the money goes to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
