WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Women's Gymnastics Team Set a new record of 191 points against Ursinus, Rhode Island, and Bridgeport in a quad meet on February 7, which placed them second overall.
The Golden Rams set and tied several records in their home gym with about 400 people in attendance.
So. Majesta Valentine (Wilmington, De.) broke her all-around record scoring a 38.775 which captured the first place title. Behind her, was Selena Swanger (Gettysburg, Pa.) who placed fourth all-around. Valentine also placed third on the Floor Exercise and the Uneven Parallel Bars with a 9.800 and a 9.750. In addition, she placed fifth on the Vault with a 9.700 and 12th on the balance beam scoring 9.525.
Meghan Brannon (Seminole Fla.) also had a successful day, as she tied her individual bar record with a score of 9.800, which was enough to reward her with second place. Brannon also placed 12th in the floor exercise with a 9.675. Overall, Brannon placed 13th out of 50 competitors, with a total score of 19.475.
On the beam, Linsday Knapp (Collegeville, Pa.) seventh with a 9.600, and behind her was Rachel Blair, placing ninth with a score of 9.575.
Coach Barb Cordova was very happy with the day the Lady Rams had. "The girls made a great team effort, and really stepped up to the plate. It was a great day."
The next meet will take place in Philadelphia, Pa on February 14 at the Ken Anderson Invite against Temple, Bridgeport and Penn.
