PISCATAWAY, N.J. - West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad placed third overall at a tri-meet hosted by Rutgers University Saturday night.
The host Scarlet Knights won the meet with a score of 195.200 while University of Bridgeport was second with a 194.750. West Chester scored a 190.825.
Majesta Valentine (Wilmington, Del.) tied for third in the all-around with a score of 38.550 while
Selena Swanger (Gettysburg, Pa.) was right behind her with a 37.975.
Valentine also posted a 9.825 on the floor exercise and tied for eighth place overall. Alyssa Hult (Fremont, N.H.) registered a 9.700 on the floor. Meghan Brannon (Seminole, Fla.) tied for fifth on the uneven bars with a score of 9.750.
West Chester returns home next Saturday to host Southern Connecticut State University inside Sturzebecker HSC at 1 p.m. in the team's final tune-up before the ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Championships the following weekend.
