TAMPA, Fla. - West Chester University's women's tennis squad downed Daemen College, 8-1, in a non-league match held at the University of Tampa.
West Chester (3-2) swept the doubles competition while taking the first two singles matches to clinch the win early on. Claire Uhle and Maddy Shaak teamed up at first doubles for an 8-4 win and then picked up victories on their own at the top two singles spots, leading WCU to victory.
Nicole Fahringer and Abriana Nolan were 8-0 winners at second doubles while Alyssa Rees and Steph Cifarelli were 8-1 winners at third doubles. Fahringer was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at fourth singles while Cassidy Branigan was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at fifth singles, and Kristen Wong a 6-1, 6-1 winner at sixth singles.
