Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Junior forward
Alex Lean (Newtown, Pa. / Council Rock North) took control of a rebound and blasted it past the goalkeeper to lift West Chester over California (Pa.), 1-0, in the first overtime period inside Rockwell Field Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (2-3-1, 1-2-0 PSAC) outshot the Vulcans 21-16 to keep the pressure on the Vulcan's defense and cause their goalie to make 10 huge saves. California (3-3-0, 1-2-0 PSAC) had five corner kick opportunities, but we not able to capitalize in 90 minutes of regulation.
Junior speedster
Miguel Ross (Pottstown, Pa. / Pottstown) led the team with six shots on goal to put the Golden Rams in position to make plays toward the goal. His last shot bounced off the Vulcan's goalkeeper and landed in front of Lean for the game winner.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa. / Bangor) made six saves to complete his second shutout of the season.
West Chester will head down I-76 and get off at Henry Avenue for a match against the Philadelphia University Rams on Sept. 22nd at 3:30 p.m.
