Box Score WILMINGTON, Del. - On a 90-degree Thursday afternoon, the West Chester Golden Rams traveled to Wilmington to open the season. It was a defensive dual in the blasting heat where the Rams ultimately fell, 1-0, in the first game of the season.
Sophomore
Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) played the entire 90 minutes in goal, making seven saves to keep the Golden Rams in the game, after falling behind early, 1-0.
Lance Berry scored the only goal of the game for Wilmington inside the nine-minute mark, before the conclusion of the first half.
WCU takes on Bloomfield College on Sept. 5 at noon at Wilmington, Del., in conclusion of the season-opening tournament.
