INDIANA, Pa. - Claire Uhle (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) was a winner at first singles, but host Indiana (Pa.) was too much for visiting West Chester, scoring an 8-1 victory over the Golden Rams on Friday afternoon.
West Chester (1-3) dropped all three doubles matches to fall behind, 3-0. However, second and third doubles witnessed some inspired play from the Golden Rams, before falling by identical scores of 8-4. First doubles dropped an 8-2 verdict.
Uhle, then, won at first singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. However, that was all the Crimson Hawks would yield to their opponents from the Eastern part of the state.
West Chester continues its western swing Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with a match at Seton Hill.
