WEST CHESTER, Pa. –
Victor Polyakov (Taganrog, Russia) won four events, setting a conference record in the 400-yard Individual Medley to lead West Chester University's men's swimming team to a sweep of its Golden Rams Classic Saturday inside Graham Natatorium.

West Chester accumulated 1,035 points, easily outdistancing Ursinus College (669) and Albright College (214) in its final meet before finals and the holiday break.

Polyakov won the 400 IM in a PSAC record time of 3 minutes, 50.62 seconds.
Thomas McCormick (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) was right behind him in second place in 3:53.97. The local product from nearby Henderson High School turned in his best collegiate meet yet, highlighted by that second-place time in the 400 IM. He also posted personal bests in the 200 IM on Friday (1:48.44) while registering a pair of second-place showings in both the 100 breaststroke (55.63) and the 200 breaststroke (2:01.06). McCormick was also part of the 800 freestyle relay and 400 free relay teams that won first place on Saturday.

Polyakov won the 200 IM on Friday, as well as the 1650 free (15:43.90), 200 free (1:38.24) and helped three relays win first place over the weekend.

Michael Oliver (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) posted a winning time of 1:57.38 in the 200 breaststroke that currently ranks first overall in Division II and is both a school record and conference record. Oliver also won the 100 breaststroke in 55.28 while helping the 200 medley relay to a first-place finish.

Shota Nakano (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) won the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.34 seconds. He was also third in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes while helping the 200 medley relay team win first place.

Austin Doss (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) won both the 100 and 200 backstrokes with times of 51.68 and 1:51.08, respectively. He also led off the 200 medley relay winning team, marking the third relay winning team that he swam the lead leg for this weekend.

West Chester will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 7 when the Golden Rams take on Johns Hopkins and The College of New Jersey in a tri-meet.
