Box Score
WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Jr., F
Tyrell Long (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) scored a career-high 25 points in his season debut, but visiting Bloomsburg came away with an 88-73 PSAC East men's basketball victory inside Hollinger Field House Friday evening.
West Chester (5-6, 3-3 PSAC) received a double-double from Long (career-high 11 rebounds). However, Bloomsburg (5-5, 1-5) picked up its first conference win of the year behind Christian Mortellite's double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) and Yahmir Greenlee's 15 points and 9 assists. Greenlee, much like Long, was making his first appearance of the year for the Huskies.
Bloomsburg shot 50.8 percent from the field (31-for-61), including 42.9 percent from behind the 3-point arc, in the game. The Huskies put four players in double figures. Conversely, West Chester did not shoot the ball well in the first 20 minutes, making just 10 of 31 from the field (32.3 percent). That put the Golden Rams in a hole at halftime of which they just could not crawl out.
Long added three blocked shots to his double-double on the night.
Malik Jackson (Lansdowne, Pa./Penn Wood), the PSAC's leading scorer entering the contest, finished with 15 points.
Jackson Hyland (Avondale, Pa./Kennett) posted 12 as well for the Rams.
Matt Penecale (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) finished with eight points and six assists.
West Chester travels to Mansfield on Tuesday for another PSAC East showdown inside Decker Gymnasium.
