Malik Jackson (Lansdowne, Pa. / Penn Wood) scored a team-high 17 points and four steals, but was not enough as No. 16 West Chester fell to PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg, 88-83 inside Koehler Fieldhouse Wednesday night.
The Golden Rams (18-4, 14-4 PSAC) after leading by two (8-6) in the first four minutes of the game would go on to shoot 34.7 percent from the field and fall by five in the closing minutes. East Stroudsburg (17-5, 13-5 PSAC) would take the lead going on a 9-1 run in the first period and end the half with a 12-point lead.
Junior forward
Jahmahl Slater (Coatesville, Pa. / Coatesville) recorded a season-high 14 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double the season. Guard
Tyrell Long (Philadelphia, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) added 15 points and six rebounds.
Matt Penecale (Jenkintown, Pa. / Abington) contributed 12 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
Warriors' senior guard Rasheed Moore led the team with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the second of two double-doubles for his team. Forward Steve Harris registered a double-double as well scoring 10 points and tying Moore in rebounds at an 11. Freshman Nick Giordano added 13 points off the bench, while teammates Jamal Nwaniemeka and Quindell Brice each contributed 12 points in the victory.
West Chester will look to bounce back when they return home to battle Mansfield a part of Senior Day inside Hollinger Field House this Saturday at 3 p.m.
