WEST CHESTER, Pa. - A
Zach Sheranko (Tannersville, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) two RBI double tied the game, and a two run
Anthony Salomone (Dillsburg, Pa./North York) dinger sealed the game two 8-6 victory, after falling 13-3 in game one against Kutztown University on Thursday afternoon at Serpico Stadium.
On a windy afternoon, Kutztown (13-16, 4-6) homered five times in game one en route to scoring 13 runs on 12 hits.
Mike Cipolla (Newark, De./Charter School of Wilmington) suffered the game one loss and is now 4-2 on the season.
Nick Bateman (Aston, Pa./Malvern) homered for WCU in the bottom of the seventh inning, his third of the year, and was 3-for-3 with three RBI's in game one.

Alex Gouveia (Phoenixville, Pa./Spring-Ford) threw two scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit and striking out two Kutztown batters.
Scoring three runs in both the first and second inning, Kutztown jumped out to a 6-0 lead in game two. However, the Golden Rams responded with eight unanswered runs, scoring four in the third and four in the fifth.
Trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the third, West Chester loaded the bases with three consecutive singles to start the inning. After beginning the inning with three hits, WCU scored four runs without recording another hit in the inning. A throwing error scored two runs and cut the deficit to 6-2. Andrew Gernert (Lenhartsville, Pa./Kutztown) narrowed the gap to 6-4 through three innings.
Still down 6-4 in the bottom of the fifth,
Justin Roman (Berwyn, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and
Shane Dressler (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) drew walks to start the inning. Sheranko followed up the free passes with a double to the left center gap, scoring both runners and tying the game at 6-6.
With two outs and Sheranko still at second base, Salomone delivered the go-ahead runs on a blast to left field. The home run was Salomone's second of the season and put WCU ahead 8-6.
Mike O'Neil (Brick, N.J./Brick Twp Memorial) earned his first win of the year in game two. O'Neil entered in the second inning, and held Kutztown scoreless in his longest outing of the year. In six innings of relief work, O'Neil (1-2) allowed five hits and struck out two.
West Chester travels to Kutztown on Saturday, April 2 for games three and four of the four game series. Games are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. starts.
