Baseball Shuts Out Notre Dame (Ohio), 4-0

Box Score

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Dalton Reed threw a complete-game shutout to lead West Chester to a 4-0 win over Notre Dame (Ohio) Saturday afternoon in the team's first game of its annual Florida trip during spring break.

West Chester (4-1) got an excellent outing from Reed (2-0), who scattered seven hits over nine innings, yielding one walk and striking out two in the win over Notre Dame (Ohio), 4-7.

The Golden Rams scored all four of their runs in the top of the second inning after the first two batters of the frame were retired. West Chester loaded the bases and three straight singles plated four runs. Drew Diehl, Nick Ward and Justin Roman had the clutch hits that gave Reed all the support he would need.

The first three batters in West Chester's order went a combined 6-for-13 with all four RBI in the win.

West Chester continues its southern swing at Lake Myrtle Park on Sunday with a doubleheader against Pace University beginning at 2:30 p.m.
