WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's women's tennis squad swept visiting Cheyney, 9-0, in a PSAC East match on South Campus Monday afternoon.
West Chester (12-6, 6-0 PSAC East) continued its streak of 9-0 wins against conference opponents with only Millersville left on the slate.
West Chester swept the doubles competition with three 8-0 wins, then swept the singles matches with a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins at five of the six positions. Third singles was a 6-0, 6-1 winner.
Rylee Power (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) played first singles for the first time this year.
Abriana Nolan (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) played second singles and was a winner as well.
Alyssa Rees (Morgantown, W.Va./University) won at third singles while
Steph Cifarelli (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) was a winner at fourth singles,
Amalie Hartman (Cleona, Pa./Annville-Cleona), usually a doubles-only player, made her first singles appearance of the year and took away a win at fifth singles.
