WEST CHESTER, Pa. –
Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) registered a combined 28 kills while
Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) dished out 71 assists to lead West Chester to a pair of wins and a perfect 4-0 record for the weekend at its very own Ram Fest Tournament Saturday afternoon inside Hollinger Field House.

West Chester (4-0) defeated both Shaw and Philadelphia University in straight sets to take the title at the season-opening win. The Golden Rams downed the Bears, 25-10, 25-17, 25-14 and topped the Rams by scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-22.

Lutz led all front-row players with 17 kills, and posted a .368 hitting percentage in the morning match against Shaw.
Abbie Dischert (Wilmington, Del./Concord) contributed 11 kills while
Nicki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) posted 20 digs, and
Emily Ahern (Dowingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) added 12. Grammer recorded 10 digs to go along with her 32 assists in reaching a double-double in the first match.

West Chester hit .283 for the match, posting a .500 hitting percentage in the first set and a .263 mark in the second.

In the second match, the Golden Rams registered 15 kills in all three sets, led by Dischert's 12 finishes. Lutz added another 11 while freshman
Rachel Robb (Blackwood, N.J./Paul VI) capped off a fine first weekend of college volleyball with eight kills.

Grammer had 39 assists while Yates posted 23 digs. Ahern collected another 15 digs as well.
Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) and
Allie Duffy (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) each contributed four blocks.

West Chester hits the road next Wednesday for a non-league match at University of the Sciences at 7 p.m.
