WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's women's basketball team tips off with cross-county rival Cheyney University Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. inside Hollinger Field House. The Golden Rams are currently tied for second place in the PSAC East as they gear up for a playoff run over the next two months.

West Chester (5-9. 5-5 PSAC) is licking its wounds following a loss on the road at Shippensburg this past Wednesday evening. The women lost to the Raiders, 82-48 in what head coach Kiera Wooden described as the worst performance in her 17 years at West Chester. The women finish up a stretch that has seen them play four games in a nine-day span with one game against a ranked opponent among the Top 10 in the country. It was what many have considered to be one of the most difficult string of games for the Golden Rams in years.

West Chester struggled from the floor Wednesday night, resulting in a total of 48 points. Wooden's team shot 38.9 percent (21-54) from the field and only a 6.7 percentage (1-15) from behind the arc.

West Chester has taken care of business in the all-time series against Cheyney, orchestrating a 19-game winning streak (including two PSAC Tournament games). The Golden Rams hold a 59-11 advantage over the Wolves, which dates back to the 1962-63 season.Cheyney last notched a win against the Golden Rams back in 2008, by a final score of 65-60. The win snapped a 16-year drought for the Wolves.
