NEW HAVEN, Conn. –
Majesta Valentine (Wilmington, Del.) won two of the four events to lead West Chester to a sweep of its women's gymnastics tri-meet at Southern Connecticut State with SUNY-Cortland Sunday afternoon.

West Chester (3-0) posted a cumulative score of 190.650 while host Southern Conn. State posted a 188.550 and SUNY Cortland a 179.050.

"We had a great day," WCU head coach Barbara Cordova said afterwards. "We hit on all 24 routines, that's all six girls hitting on each of the four events, which is the first time in my time here that that has happened. I am definitely proud of all of them."

Valentine won both the vault and the bars with teammate
Selena Swanger (Gettysburg, Pa.) runner-up in the vault with a 9.575 and
Myranda Marshall (Lancaster, Pa.) was runner-up on the bars with a 9.525. The Golden Rams swept the top three spots on the vault with
Meghan Chan (Northvale, N.J.) taking third with a score of 9.550.

Valentine was runner-up on the floor exercise with a score of 9.8. Swanger was right behind her in third with a 9.7. Valentine placed third on the beam with a 9.675 while Chan was fourth with a 9.6.

Valentine scored a 38.875 on the all-around while Swanger scored a 37.750.

West Chester travels to Rutgers University next weekend for a quad meet with Nebraska and Brown University joining the Golden Rams and host Rutgers.
