WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Majesta Valentine (Wilmington, Del.) broke her own school record on the floor exercise, and West Chester set a new team mark on the floor, as the host Golden Rams defeated visiting University of Pennsylvania, 193.400-189.350 Saturday afternoon inside Sturzebecker Health Science Center.
Valentine posted a 9.925 on the floor while West Chester set a new team mark with a 49.025 overall. The senior also won the balance beam with a score of 9.825 and tied for first, alongside teammate
Samantha Engle (Beaver Falls, Pa.), on the vault with a 9.675.
Kristen Torres (Paradise, Pa.) and
Selena Swanger (Gettysburg, Pa.) each tied for third on the vault with a 9.6.
Myranda Marshall (Lancaster, Pa.) won the uneven bars with a 9.75 while Valentine was runner-up with a 9.725.
Valentine won the all-around as well with a score of 39.150.
West Chester's gymnasts will be back in action at the Ken Anderson Invitational, hosted by Temple University, on Feb. 4.
