EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Another double-double from
Tyrell Long (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was not enough for the Golden Rams as West Chester dropped a 98-82 decision to the Warriors inside Koehler Fieldhouse Monday evening.
West Chester (6-8, 4-5 PSAC) gave it all they had, but in the end, East Stroudsburg (11-3, 9-0) pulled away late for the conference win. Long paced the Golden Rams with 21 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. It marked the third double-double in four games for Long, who is now averaging 21.5 points per game over that same span.
Ryan Skovranko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Lincoln Park Academy) posted his first double-double in the purple and gold with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Zach Bare (Reiserstown, Md./St. Paul's School) finished with a team-best 24 points in the loss as well. Matt Penecale (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington) was the only other Golden Rams player in double figures. He finished with 10 points and seven assists.
East Stroudsburg, which trailed 35-29 at halftime, scored 69 points over the final 20 minutes to come from behind and get the tally in the "win" column.
West Chester will travel to Shippensburg on Wednesday for another PSAC showdown with an undefeated first-place team.
