Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

West Chester Tripped up by East Stroudsburg, 3-1

WEST CHESTER, Pa.-The West Chester University women's volleyball team(17-6, 7-5 PSAC) wrapped up  their homestand on Saturday afternoon as they hosted East Stroudsburg(13-9, 4-7 PSAC). East Stroudsburg went on to win 3-1 (15-25, 16-25, 25-16, 27-29).
How it Happened:
  • East Stroudsburg opened the first set on a 12-0 run and while West Chester tried to battle back for the remainder of the set it would not be enough as the Golden Rams dropped the opening set 25-15.
  • The second set was back and forth for much of the early going but East Stroudsburg would prove to be too much in the second set as they ultimately pulled away for a 25-16 set win to go up 2-0 heading to the third set.
  • Once again the third set was tight early on but West Chester would ultimately pull away and win the third set 25-16 to make the score 2-1 heading to the fourth set.
  • In the fourth set the Golden Rams jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead forcing East Stroudsburg to call an early timeout.  Coming out of the timeout ESU came storming back winning eight of the next 11 points to bring the fourth set to a 9-9 tie midway through the set. The fourth set would continue to be close as each side competed well but ESU ultimately proved to be too much as they won the fourth set 29-27.
