Slippery Rock, Pa.-The West Chester University women's volleyball team (20-6, 9-5 PSAC) took to the road once again on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Slippery Rock (10-15, 2-11 PSAC) for an important late season PSAC battle. West Chester went on to win in straight sets by a final score of (25-16, 26-24, 25-17).
How it Happened:
- West Chester took the first set with relative ease winning by a score of 25-16.
- The second set was back and forth throughout but West Chester finally pulled ahead and won the set by a score of 26-24.
- In the third set West Chester jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead and Slippery Rock was never able to fully recover from this deficit as they went on to win the third set 25-17 and also taking the match in straight sets.
Inside the Numbers:
- Abbie Dischert (Wilmington, De./Concord) led the way in kills with 14 while teammate Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) recorded 10 kills of her own.
- Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) contributed in her usual way recording a match high 37 assists.
- Lutz also turned in a team high 16 digs while Nicki Yates (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) registered 13 digs of her own.
- West Chester recorded a great hitting percentage hitting .301 on the day while holding Slippery Rock to a percentage of just .129.
