Johnstown, Pa. -On Saturday afternoon the West Chester Golden Rams (13-4, 3-3 PSAC) continued their road trip as they traveled to Pitt-Johnstown (14-5, 4-2 PSAC) for a PSAC Crossover battle. The Golden Rams came out on top in this match by a score of 3-1 (25-19, 25-15, 15-25, 25-17).
How it Happened:
- West Chester never trailed in the first set and while Pitt-Johnstown was able to make the set tight at times the Golden Rams still prevailed by a 25-19 margin.
- The second set was close until the 14-10 mark the Golden Rams would take off from here recording 11 of the next 16 points to take a 2-0 lead.
- Pitt-Johnstown stormed back in the third set and was able to pull out a 25-15 victory to send the match to a fourth set.
- In the fourth set the Golden Rams sealed the deal thanks to a 10-3 run from 15-14 to pull away and win the fourth set and the match.
Inside the Numbers:
- Abbie Dischert(Wilimington, De./Concord) continued to have a strong weekend leading the way with a match high 13 kills.
- Jillian Grammer(Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) turned in another strong performance with a match best 39 assists.
- Nicki Yates(Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) also had a strong day recording another match high with 25 digs.
- West Chester had a hitting percentage of .198 on the day while holding UPJ to a hitting percentage of just .112
