PSAC Indoor Tack & Field Championships - Day 1 Results
EDINBORO, Pa. – Justus Norman and Joseph Adighibe took the top two spots in the long jump, and sprinter DeShaun Pickett qualified for the finals in a pair of events, on the first day of competition at the 2017 PSAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships held inside the Mark Zafirovsky Dome Saturday.

West Chester is currently in sixth place with 22 points. Slippery Rock leads the field with 47 points while Shippensburg is right behind with 45. Lock Haven is third with 40 points, and Lock Haven is fifth with 29. East Stroudsburg has 26 points, just ahead of West Chester's 22.

Norman won his PSAC individual title with a leap of 23 feet, 4 ½ inches, beating out teammate Adighibe for the top spot. Adighibe leaped 22-1 for his second-place finish. That event accounted for 18 of West Chester's 22 points.

West Chester's 4x800m relay team placed fifth overall for the Golden Rams' other four points. That team consisted of Colin McClusick, Jim McDaid, Josh Coakley and Matt Eisenlord. They clocked a time of 8 minutes, 1.22 seconds.

DeShaun Pickett ran the fastest time in the prelims for the 60m dash, making him the favorite in tomorrow's final. He posted a time of 6.87 seconds. He then finished fifth in the 200m to advance to Sunday's final.

Meanwhile Collin Vannicolo is currently in first place in the Heptathlon with 2,713 points while teammate Brady Thayer is second with 2,536 points. They will finish up their multi's tomorrow as well.
