COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Majesta Valentine (Wilmington, Del.) placed fourth in the all-around to lead West Chester to a fourth-place finish at the Maryland Five meet Wednesday evening.
West Chester (7-9) defeated William & Mary for the first time in school history, and the Golden Rams did not have to count a fall in the process. West Chester posted a score of 193.225 to William & Mary's 191.050. Maryland won the meet with a 195.8. New Hampshire was second with a 195.275, and Temple was third with a 194.9.
Valentine scored a 39.075 all-around, tying for first on the floor exercise.
