Â
Ashland (5-8) used a six-run fifth to erase a 2-0 deficit en route to the win over West Chester (3-2). Four of the six runs in the fateful frame were unearned. Carson Mittermaier's third home run of the season, a three-run shot following a pair of miscues, was the big blow in the fifth.

Ashland scored eight runs on 11 hits and committed three errors while West Chester scored five runs on seven hits and committed two errors.
Â
The Golden Rams were able to fight back to within a run (6-5) by the top of the ninth inning. However, the Eagles plated two insurance tallies in the ninth to keep WCU at bay.
Â
Shane Dressler (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) went 2-for-4 with a pair of triples and a pair of runs scored while
Nick Bateman (Aston, Pa./Malvern) scored three times and knocked in a pair of runs behind Dressler.
Â
Jon Fisher (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) (1-1) was the hard-luck loser on the hill for West Chester. He started and threw the first five innings, surrendering six runs, only two of them earned on seven hits. He walked only one batter and struck out 10.
