ORLANDO, Fla. – The Golden Rams' women's tennis team dropped a tough match against the University of Charleston Wednesday evening, 8-1, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando as part of the team's spring trip to the Sunshine State.
West Chester (5-2, 5-1 PSAC), picked up a win in its fifth singles match. Freshman Sophie Rathmell (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey) won both of her sets 6-2, 6-4.However, the Golden Eagles took all three doubles contests to open a 3-0 lead and then won five of the six singles to come away victorious.
West Chester returns to action tomorrow as they travel to Lakeland, Fla., to face the Southeastern University at 12 p.m.
