WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Golden Rams' women's tennis team blanked visiting PSAC East opponent Bloomsburg University Sunday afternoon, 9-0.
West Chester (11-2, 3-0 PSAC) now has now won 13 straight matches against PSAC East opponents by a 9-0 margin.
Claire Uhle (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon),
Maddy Shaak (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County),
Rylee Power (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown),
Grace Towler (West Chester, Pa./ Unionville),Â
Abriana Nolan (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) and
Steph Cifarelli (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) were all double winners for the Golden Rams as well as taking their singles matches and doubles competitions. Uhle won the opening set of the singles match 6-2, 6-1 while Shaak was a 6-2, 6-4 victor. They both teamed up to take the first doubles set with an 8-1 win.
Power teamed with Towler were victorious during the second doubles match in an 8-4 win. Power held strong throughout the third singles match, defeating opponent 6-2, 6-3. Meanwhile, Nolan and Cifarelli were 8-2 winners throughout the third doubles match. Nolan clinched the match between Bloomburg in the fourth singles 6-2, 6-1 while freshman
Sophie Rathmell (Lancaster, Pa./ McCaskey) won her singles match 6-3, 6-2. Senior Cifarelli also was a 7-6 verdict to Bloomburg on their senior day
West Chester will be on the road as they take on Shippensburg University Wednesday in a PSAC league match up at 4 P.M.
