DANBURY, Conn. - Sr., Lucas Von der Heyde (Exton, Pa./Great Valley) was selected as the ECAC DII Men's Tennis Player of the Month, which was announced this morning.
He has been on a roll in his last three matches for the Golden Rams, going 3-0 in singles matches against tough competition.
Against Eckerd College's Eddie Lewis, the senior won the first set 6-2. However, he slipped in the second set by a score of 4-6. Von Der Heyde came through and regained control of the match to solidify in third set 10-8. In a 6-3 win over St. Michaels College, he contributed a win in his singles match 6-0, 6-2. Lastly, he provided a 6-2, 6-1 victory in singles competition against Southeastern University.
In terms of PSAC action, he dropped a tough one to Mercyhurst's Nenad Terzic, 6-2, 6-2. The next day, he would fall to Edinboro's Mauricio Santos 6-2, 6-0. He has missed the last pair of matches against Kutztown and Philadelphia University due to injury.
