WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's Division II National Championship baseball team will be honored on Monday, September 18th at Citizens Bank Park before the Philadelphia Phillies game with the Los Angeles Dodgers at 7 p.m.
The Golden Rams are one of the organizations being honored as part of the Phillies Salute to Champion's night. The pregame ceremony is scheduled to take place around 6 p.m., those interested in seeing this ceremony should plan to arrive early at the ballpark.
West Chester won the National Championship by defeating UC San Diego, 5-2, back on June 4th.
The squad did not drop a single game in the national finals. The Golden Rams are currently on an eight-game winning streak in the Division II National Championship tournament as they also went 4-0 en route to a national title in 2012. Â
The West Chester Foundation and Student Activities council is offering free tickets on a first come first served basis with signups at the SSI window on the ground floor of the Sykes Student Union. The University is also providing a shuttle to the game with the bus leaving Sykes at 4:30 p.m. and returning to campus around approximately 11 p.m.
