FINAL RESULTS
ERIE, Pa. – West Chester's women's tennis saw its first action this fall as six Golden Rams were on the court today at the Pennbriar Athletic Club for the ITA Atlantic Region Individual Championships in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Singles
- West Chester's Leandra Roelker dropped a tough one to Charleston's Elise Edwards, 6-0 and 6-0.
- Teammate, Shannon Nixon suffered a loss in the A bracket to West Liberty's Thais Mendez's 6-7 (4), 6-4, and 0-1 (10).
- Jr., Rylee Power had success in singles, knocking off Edinboro's Roxana Yeh 6-1 and 6-3. In the next round, Power lost to Katie Swann 5-7 and 0-6.
- Elaina Rochford lost a breaker to Slippery Rock's Amy Varckette. She fell 6-4, 4-6, 0-1 (8).
- In the B bracket for singles, Julia Mowry lost to Charleston's Bridget Dillon by scores of 6-1 and 6-2. In a consolation match, she would go onto prevail 8-2, considering that consolation play is 8-game pro sets.
- Gracyn Towler in B bracket fell 6-3, 6-3 to Nena Douros of the University of Charleston.
Doubles
- The pair of Roelker and Rochford received a first round bye. However, they would fall to Notre Dame's duo, 9-7.
- In the B draw, the Golden Rams' pair of Mowry and Towler produced an 8-3 victory. After advancing, they would lose to Fairmont State's pair by a score of 8-1.
Note
- Towler and Rochford receives byes and are through to the next round.
