Indiana, Pa.-On Saturday afternoon the West Chester University volleyball team(11-4, 1-3 PSAC) continued their PSAC southwest trip as they traveled to Indiana University of Pennsylvania(IUP)(13-4, 4-0 PSAC) for a big PSAC matchup. IUP would go on to win in straight sets (26-24, 25-18,25-15).
How it Happened:
- The first set was back and forth the entire way and the Golden Rams held the lead multiple times (5-2, 14-11, 18-15) but a late charge by IUP would secure the first set victory for the Crimson Hawks.
- In the second set West Chester raced out to a 7-2 lead and they would maintain this lead up to 16-14. From this point forward IUP would take off once again finishing the set strong as they won 11 of the next 13 points to win the second set.
- In the third set the Golden Rams held an early 2-0 lead once again but IUP would quickly answer back and take off from this point as they would race to a 25-15 victory in the decisive third set.
Inside the Numbers:
- Karleigh Lutz(Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led the Golden Rams with eight kills and she also recorded five digs along the way.
- Jillian Grammer(Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) led the Golden Rams in assists with 23 on the match to go along with seven digs of her own.
- Nicki Yates(Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) worked hard in the match once again recording a team high for digs with 22 on the afternoon.
