COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad swept all four events en route to a 191.725-186.8 dual meet victory over host Ursinus College Sunday afternoon.

West Chester (4-0) pushed past the 190-mark for the first time this winter, improving significantly from its first meet of the year. Golden Rams gymnasts took the top three spots on vault and captured the top two spots on both the uneven bars and the balance beam to easily outdistance the Ursinus Bears.

"I'm really proud of the girls' performance today," WCU head coach Barb Cordova said. "They definitely improved from their first meet, and I am excited to see what they can do from here."

Freshman
Jessica Meakin (Downingtown, Pa.) won the vault and placed second in the floor exercise to lead the Rams' charge. She scored a 9.7 on the vault to take first place ahead of teammate
Meghan Chan (Northvale, N.J.) (9.625). Fellow Golden Rams
Lindsey Mathis (Waldorf, Md.) and
Rachel Blair (Telford, Pa.) tied for third in the vault (9.525).

Myranda Marshall (Lancaster, Pa.) topped the field on the uneven bars with a score of 9.8. She was followed close behind by
Melanie Wojewoda (Amelia, Ohio) with a 9.75.

Sarah Boyd (St. Petersburg, Fla.) won the balance beam with a 9.8 while
Yoli Nordase (Pompton Plains, N.J.) was second with a 9.75.

Meakim placed second on the floor exercise with a 9.725. West Chester also took third, fourth and fifth on the floor as well.
