EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - West Chester University takes to the road once again in October for a PSAC Eastern Division showdown with East Stroudsburg University at Eiler-Martin Stadium at 4:05 p.m.
Saturday's meeting marks the 83rd meeting all-time between the two programs and the 73rd consecutive year in which the two rivals have butted heads on the gridiron dating back to 1946.
West Chester brings an unblemished 6-0 mark into Saturday's showdown, following a 17-14 win over Bloomsburg on the road two weeks ago. The Golden Rams enjoyed a bye week last Saturday due to Cheyney dropping its football program. West Chester would have played the Wolves at home last Saturday. However, the Golden Rams could not find a replacement game when Cheyney announced that it was discontinuing its program.
East Stroudsburg is trying to put an end to its five-game losing streak on Saturday as the Warriors square off with a nationally ranked opponent for the third time this season. ESU has lost its last four games by 10 points, or less. R-Sr. RB Jaymar Anderson.
is second in the PSAC and ranks seventh in DII in rushing (135.3 ypg). Anderson has played in six games, after missing season opener due to injury.
ESU's Denny Douds leads active NCAA coaches in wins (264) and games coached (469). Douds is in his 45th season as head coach, ranking T-7th in NCAA history and ranking fifth in years coached at one school.
