GREENSBURG Pa.- The West Chester University women's basketball team (4-8, 0-5 PSAC) was back in action for the second time in as many days on Wednesday evening on the road at PSAC West opponent Seton Hill (7-3, 2-2 PSAC). Each team entered play looking to avenge a loss from the night before as West Chester was clipped by No. 2 Indiana (Pa.) while Seton Hill fell to East Stroudsburg. Despite a strong first half, West Chester was unable to snap its losing streak this evening as the Golden Rams fell to the Griffins by a final score of 81-64.

How it Happened:
- The first quarter was a quarter of runs as the Golden Rams opened the game on a 12-2 run in the first three and a half minutes to take their largest lead of the game at 12-2 in the early going. However, the tide quickly turned as Seton Hill went on a run of its own over the course of the next four minutes scoring 19 unanswered points to grab a 21-12 advantage over its guest. West Chester did manage to answer right back with an 11-2 run of its own to end the first quarter tied at 23-23.
- In the second quarter, both teams traded baskets as the Golden Rams managed to register 14 points while the Griffins posted 15 of their own, which allowed Seton Hill to carry a slim one-point (38-37) lead to the halftime break.
- Seton Hill went on another run to open the third quarter as the Griffins outscored the Golden Rams 13-3 over the course of the first six and a half minutes of the second half, which gave the Griffins a commanding 51-40 with three and a half minutes to go in the third. This early run allowed Seton Hill to take a decisive 58-44 lead to the fourth and final quarter of play.
- In the final stanza, Seton Hill scored the first six points of the frame in the opening two minutes before Madison Torresin (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) sunk a pair of free throws with just under eight minutes to play to get West Chester back on the board and cut the deficit to 64-46. The Golden Rams worked to battle back from this point, however, the homestanding Griffins proved to be too much in the 81-64 loss.
Golden Ram Rundown:
- Destiny Jefferson (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) was the Golden Rams leading scorer once again on Wednesday night as she registered a game-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in the loss. Torresin tied her season-high as she ended with 14 points while Gabrielle Troisi (Norristown, Pa./Pope John Paul II) was the final Golden Ram in double-figures with 11. Troisi narrowly missed a double-double as she registered a team-high nine rebounds while Torresin tied Jefferson in rebounds with eight boards of her own.
- As a team, West Chester shot 36.1 % (26-of-72) from the field while going 6-of-16 (37.5 %) from beyond the arc. The Golden Rams also struggled from the line once again going just 6-of-13 (46.2 %) from the stripe in the loss.
- West Chester did end the game with a 17-13 edge in points off turnovers and a 16-10 advantage in fast-break points while Seton Hill ended the contest the edge in second-chance points, points off the bench, and points in the paint.
Seton Hill Facts
- Lexi Civittolo played well once again for Seton Hill as she scored a team-high 17 points to lead four Griffins in double-figures. Tiana Stewart was not far behind with 16 points of her own while Katie Nolan had 14 and Megan Marecic ended with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
- As a team, Seton Hill ended the night shooting 45.6 % (31-of-68) from the field while also shooting 43.3 % (13-for-30) from deep. The Griffins also made the most of their opportunities at the line going a perfect 6-for-6 from the stripe in the victory.
- Seton Hill also managed to outrebound West Chester by a +10 margin (48-38) although the Griffins did lose the turnover battle as they committed 18 turnovers while the Golden Rams committed just 12.

West Chester will have another long layoff before its next game as the Golden Rams will not be back on the court until December 29
th when the team travels to Kutztown to open PSAC East play with that game scheduled to tip at 1:00 p.m.
